The Finest Worksong

I'm only 2 hrs into my work day and already I'm bored. I look around the office and most of the people in the office are older. They're all settled with their nice houses in the suburbs and their 2.5 kids. They've succumbed. This is exactly what i'm trying to avoid. I don't want to sell out and have some shitty job for the next 20 years just so i can be financially stable. Maybe these folks never aspired to be anything. I just don't want to give up and end up like them. I bet a lot of them didn't even attend college. I mean, you don't need to go to college to sit in front of a computer all day. Then again, I went to college. Maybe I'm snotty, but I know I'm destined for greater things. If I got paid well for all the writing I do, I could forgo the proverbial day job, but since what I do make is pittance, I'm forced to toil away. I wish I had more time to work on stuff like my PR projects and finish my book. Alas, a thing called work, things called sleep and eating, the time sucking internet and myspace, and various social activities take up a lot of time. So for now, I'll plug in my earbuds and stream KEXP and get through the day somehow.

On a side note, my roommates bought their cat one of those self-cleaning litter boxes from Target. I never knew this existed. It woke me up this morning at 6 a.m making a droning/churning sound for 2 minutes. I will have to address this impending situation with my roommates for I refuse to be woken up every morning when the cat takes a shit.
